Give to the Winds Your Fears

Give to the Winds Your Fears

The Christian life consists of learning to let go. It's about releasing and surrendering our lives to the power of God to transform. It's a perpetual giving up the desire to hold a firm grip on our fears. Hands open in release are free to be filled for God's purposes. Sighs that let go of our sorrows offer an open space for joy. Griefs commended to God's tender care bring us into God's comforting arms.

Holy God, in times of waiting, sustain me with your presence. Let your holy wind carry fear far from my anxious heart. Bring heaven's calm to quiet my soul. Amen.
Give to the Winds Thy Fears
Stanza 1:
Give to the winds thy fears;
hope and be undismayed.
God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears,
God shall lift up thy head.

Stanza 2:
Through waves and clouds and storms,
God gently clears the way;
wait thou God's time; so shall this night
soon end in joyous day.

Stanza 3:
Leave to God's sovereign sway
to choose and to command;
so shalt thou, wondering, own that way,
how wise, how strong this hand.

Stanza 4:
Let us in life, in death,
thy steadfast truth declare,
and publish with our latest breath
thy love and guardian care.
